Budmouth Young Enterprise Team progress

The Weybiza Team
The Weybiza Team

Budmouth Technology College have entered a team in the Young Enterprise competition which involves schools from accross Europe, they have 3 school terms to create a company, create a product and market that product to the public with success being judged on many criteria, not just turnover and profit. Last week there was the Dorset Finals involving 24 teams from various schools in the region and Budmouth were selected to progress to the South West Regional finals. Success there would mean national finals and then European finals in Rome in the summer. Wish them luck and support them as much as you can!

Budmouth’s company has created the website here and are promoting Weymouth to the holidaying public as a fun destination, their funds are derived from selling mugs, tee shirts and other memorabilia with either one of their two logos on, one being a New York styled I love Weybiza and the other a sunshine version of the same using the correct name of Weymouth.

The judges were very impressed with the Budmouth team and their innovative
idea.

The judges said of all the groups that they would like to see progress made,
in Budmouth’s case more sales and publicity. They liked Budmouth’s trade stand and it had
everything needed on it but the judges felt it needed a little more work and to contain more example products.

The presentation was good, judges appreciated the lack of notes and straight
talking, especially MD Beckie Mussenden.
