Take a Giant Leap for Ape Kind at Monkey World!

Calling all adrenaline junkies! Sunday 16th September will mark the second Giant Leap for Ape Kind Bungee Jump and Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre in Wareham will once again host the event in aid of the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund (registered charity number 1126939).

Experience the exhilaration of a bungee jump from a 165 feet high platform and enjoy a great day out whilst raising funds for a fantastic cause! Every penny raised will go to the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund, a charity set up in memory of the park’s founder to support primate conservation and welfare all over the world, ensuring those primates rescued have a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Those brave enough to jump for Jim will need to raise £75 each in sponsorship and will receive their very own ‘Giant Leap for Ape Kind’ t-shirt and entry to Monkey World.  You will also be treated to the most spectacular view of the park prior to taking the plunge – if you can bear to look down! If you’ve ever wanted to experience the thrill of a bungee jump, there is no better opportunity as the park celebrates it’s 25th anniversary this year. It’s a great way to get involved with such a worthy cause and you’ll be in good company as Monkey World’s director Dr Alison Cronin MBE will be taking her own ‘giant leap’ (rescues permitting) along with other staff members.

If you would rather keep your feet on the ground, then you can still get involved by sponsoring Alison and coming along on the day to support everyone brave enough to bungee.  To sponsor Alison online please go to www.justgiving.com/Alison-Cronin-GiantLeap.

There’s plenty to keep you entertained in the run up to the first jump including fantastic local band ‘The Brass Monkeys’  who will be providing the music and Maverick Slacklines who will be putting on a spectacular slacklining demonstration and workshop for you.

So take your own ‘Giant Leap’ or support those brave enough to bungee. Have a go at slacklining and enjoy some great music – there’s something for everyone! Monkey World are taking bookings now so for more information or to book your place please call 01929 401018 or email fundraising@jimcroninmemorialfund.org.
