It’s time to say a big thank you to the organisers of the Dorset Seafood Festival after the huge effort that they put in over the weekend, with all the rain on Friday and Saturday, the BBC News informed us that the wettest place in the UK was Portland (4 inches of rain in 24 hours) and Weymouth can’t have been far behind that the festival organisers reluctantly had to cancel Saturday’s event but fortune shines on the good and the rain stopped and the people came, Sunday was one of the best days ever for anyone who attended.
Both sides of the Harbour were filled with exhibitors and the public came in their thousands to taste the fantastic variety of seafood that was on offer, not to mention the champagne and Pimms.
All Weymouth ever needs is a touch of sunshine and it blossoms into the best resort in Britain. Bring on the warmer weather, as soon as the sun’s out there’s plenty to do in Weymouth.
