4 to 16 Matchstick Fleet – Nothe Fort. A collection of 200 plus vessels representing almost every class of warship since 1945. 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. Normal entrance fee applies.

8 & 9 – VE Day 65th Anniversary Weekend – Nothe Fort. British, American and Canadian Re-enactors, Bomb Disposal Squad, Military Vehicles, Field Hospital, Home Guard, Music and Singing.

9 Spring Flowers at Ferrybridge – At this time of year many coastal areas are coated by a layer of pink as the thrift begins to bloom. Meet Chesil Centre, 10:00 hrs.

11-20 ISSF Shotgun World Cup – Dorchester Southern Counties Shooting Ground.

12 Veterans Rendezvous – Weymouth Pavilion Ocean Room. 10 am to 12 noon. Free Entry. Enjoy a relaxed informal atmosphere, meet new friends and comrades in a gathering of ex-service and auxiliary service veterans

15 Harley Davidson Parade and Static Display – Lodmoor Country Park, Events Area. Your chance to see 10 million pounds worth of Harley Davidson motorcycles for free and enjoy the live music. Parade along Weymouth Esplanade at 12 noon before forming up in static display at Lodmoor.

15 Pennsylvania Castle Plant and Craft Fair – Portland, 11 am to 4 pm.

16 Transport of Yesteryear “Meet the Club” Day, Static Classic and Vintage Vehicles Display – Jubilee Clock. 10.30 am to 4 pm.

16 The Bustinskin Novice Osprey Super Sprint Triathlon – Starting at Osprey Leisure Centre, Portland.

16 Penguins at Portland? – 7am to 9.30 am – Meet at Portland Bill car park. Well actually they look a bit like penguins, but are auks otherwise known as razorbills, guillemots and the occasional puffin. Join us to witness the awesome seabird city at Portland Bill. 16 Annual Dorset Vintage Motorcycle Run – Pavilion Forecourt – Static display for afternoon viewing – 1pm – 4 pm.
Mid May Baby Swans Hatching, Abbotsbury Swannery. See hundreds of cygnets hatch around the pathways.
