Jaffa’s Asymmetric Regatta Success at The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

The Jaffa ‘Zest For Life Tour’ 2010 got off to a flying start last weekend with the first ever Jaffa Asymmetric Cup at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA.)  The regatta was the first stop of many on Jaffa’s Tour.  The WPNSA provided the ideal starting location as it allowed Jaffa to showcase their sponsorship around the event, having been proud sponsors of the Academy venue for the past two years.

The event saw competitors take to the water to compete in a variety of races for 29er, B14 and Musto Skiff class boats.  The winners left stocked up on Vitamin C and headed home with their medals, trophies and various prizes.

The rest of the year will see the Jaffa brand taking to various events and locations throughout the UK focusing on the youthful and healthy benefits of the product.  The Jaffa Camper Van will be rolling up to the annual Summer Swing festival at Kew Gardens and Jaffa will be holding a series of Beach Volleyball/Party events.  The summer activities will close with Jaffa sponsoring a windsurfing event at the WPNSA.

Chris Knight, Business and Event Director at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, commented, “the Jaffa Asymmetric event was an outstanding success which saw competitors enjoying good wind strengths over a weekend of close racing.  The support of the Jaffa sponsorship is a most welcome addition to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.”
