To keep up-to-date with the many exciting events which make up ‘The Spirit of The Sea Maritime Festival’, organisers are delighted to report that everyone will now be able to tune in to the Festival’s very own radio station – Spirit Live! broadcasting on 87.7 metres FM.
Organisers have brought in this innovation so that all residents and visitors alike can quickly know precisely where and when events are happening. Spirit Live will be broadcasting every day during the Festival which runs from 2nd to 10th July. The live and interactive broadcast will be on the air from 9am to 10pm each day.
Between a great mix of popular music, listeners will also be entertained by interviews with special guests, visitors, residents and organisers in addition to hourly updates for the news and weather. With over 30 events arranged to celebrate the area’s rich maritime heritage, reports will feature participants trying their hand at a range of sports and being entertained with various cultural programmes covering history and the arts.
Spirit Live! will be run almost entirely by a group of students gathered from Weymouth College, Bournemouth University, The Chesil Education Partnership and other secondary schools. Its’ studio will be located in the media department of Weymouth College.
Wherever you are in the borough, listeners will be invited to tune in to Spirit Live! on 87.7FM to enjoy the excitement of ‘The Spirit of The Sea Maritime Festival’. Miss it, miss out!
