Spirit of the Sea 2011 Events Programme Now Available
Organisers are pleased to announce the exciting programme for this year’s Spirit of The Sea Maritime Festival. Over 30 events will be held around Weymouth and Portland from 2nd to 10th July.
The popular headline events that will again feature are Beach Live, the Dorset Seafood Festival, the Henri Lloyd Weymouth Regatta, the Moving Tides Carnival and the Maritime Modelling Festival.
Printed event programmes for Spirit of the Sea Maritime Festival have been produced in partnership with the Dorset Echo. Each programme comprises 40 pages on easy-to-hold A5 size paper. The Festival programmes will be available free from Monday 27th June at the Tourist Information Centre located in the foyer of Weymouth Pavilion.
People are recommended to obtain a programme to check out the day-by-day listings of the events with information on each. A map for location purposes will be included as will precise timings and booking information, where appropriate.
Inside the programme will be details of a superb prize draw. First prize will be a staggering £1000 in cash, second prize will be a Merlin annual pass kindly donated by Sea Life Park, Weymouth and third prize will be a day’s sailing on board Weymouth’s own tall ship, the TS Pelican. There are also details of how you can enter the popular photographic competition organized by the Chesil Bank and the Fleet Nature Reserve.
Brand new this year is an alternative method of keeping in touch with the events of the Spirit of The Sea Maritime Festival is to tune in to the event’s very own radio station Spirit Live! on 87.7 fm. It will be broadcasting each day of the Festival from 9am to 10pm.
