This new iconic building will house a variety of rooms of many sizes and for many purposes that offer a range of opportunities for community use.

At the heart of the facility is FireWise, an innovative and compelling learning opportunity where the visitor experiences realistic scenarios to help them to learn how to keep themselves safe.

COMING SOON WEYMOUTH COMMUNITY FIRE STATION

The new community facility will offer flexible spaces that can be used in creative ways to best serve the local and wider community:

FITNESS ROOM (up to 6 people)

This will have a range of exercise equipment and showering/changing facilities.

I.T. SUITE (holds up to 16 people)

This is ideal for teaching computer skills or using as a homework club.

KITCHENS AND CAFETERIA SPACE

Three fully equipped kitchenettes, perfect for teaching lifeskills and cookery, attached to a cafeteria space.

Endless possibilities for catering classes, community lunches, social get-togethers.

MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM (holds up to 60 people)

Designed with a sprung floor and with staging available this can be used for all sorts of activities including dance, drama, music, theatre and conferences.

TWO COMMUNITY ROOMS (hold up to 40 each or opened up to hold up to 80 people)

With tables and chairs configured to your needs these rooms can be used for classes, meetings and conferences, as two separate rooms or as one large room.

MEETING ROOM (holds up to 8 people)

A smaller space to hold meetings, tutorials etc.

ANCILLARY ROOM

With a washable non-slip flooring this room is ideal for crèche, table tennis, judo etc.

OUTDOOR SPACE

Areas of the yard are available for activities such as cycling proficiency.

FIREWISE (for up to 30 people)

This educational suite, consisting of an interactive walk-through house, a ‘real-life’ fire, the aftermath of a fire and a classroom, will be run by trained members of Dorset Fire and Rescue Service.

Tailored programmes will be used to teach safety to groups in the community.

VOLUNTEERS

There are opportunities for members of the public to volunteer, e.g. serving on reception, helping in the cafeteria.

• There is a large car park and it is near two bus stops
• Storage is available for regular users
• Most rooms have audio visual equipment
• Refreshments are available
